  The life of a SARCAN Communication and Culture Coordinator

  Each and every SARCAN team member is an important part of our team and our community.  As SARCAN’s Communication and Culture Coordinator you will be responsible for:

  • Executing communications/promotional strategies for SARCAN initiatives
  • Ensuring consistent and accurate articulation of SARCAN’s brand and image
  • Developing and/or sourcing communications/creative materials
  • Maintaining SARCAN’s website, including developing and/or sourcing content
  • Serving as a brand ambassador and relationship steward, building and maintaining positive relationships with SARCAN customers and stakeholders
  • Coordinating events and acting as main media and press contact for SARCAN Recycling
  • Becoming the biggest recycling expert among all of your family and friends

  What are the skills you must have to perform this role?

  To be successful as a Communication and Coordinator at SARCAN, you will need to:

  • First and foremost, be a relationship builder
  • Possess exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Have a high-level of creativity that is demonstrated through your past accomplishments, including establishing an effective online presence
  • Exhibit a strong degree of professionalism, while remaining highly-personable and approachable in the company of people of all abilities, cultures and backgrounds 
  • Be passionate about your work and have fun doing it
  • Have an acute eye for detail
  • Demonstrate proficiency using all Microsoft Office products, video and photo editing and design software such as Adobe InDesign
  • Be extremely organized and have the ability to multi-task and adapt
  • Thrive working in a busy and diverse atmosphere    
  • Be highly motivated

   

  OTHER POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant post-secondary degree and a minimum of five years of experience in communications, public relations and/or marketing;  A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license and own reliable vehicle is required
  • Provide a satisfactory criminal record and vulnerable sector check as a condition of employment
  • This position requires occasional day and overnight travel throughout Saskatchewan

  • Counting containers for deposit refund
  • Operating cash register, if needed
  • Preparing containers for shipping and loading product onto trailers for transport
  • Becoming the biggest recycling expert among all of your family and friends!
